About the service

01Does The Brown Sage handle only cancer cases?+
Yes. The Brown Sage is exclusively an oncology platform. Every case we process is a cancer case. Our AI pipeline, specialist panel, matchmaking, and quality gates are all designed around oncology workflows. Non-cancer cases submitted by mistake are flagged and returned at intake.
02What exactly do I receive?+
Depending on the tier you choose: (1) Records Vault (free) - your documents organised and merged into a single PDF. (2) Case Prep (Rs 3,000) - a structured medical summary (doctor-ready PDF) plus a personalised Patient Guide. (3) Expert Review (Rs 7,500 all-inclusive) - everything in Case Prep, plus a written opinion from a matched senior oncologist.
03How is this different from asking another doctor for a second opinion?+
Three differences. First, your case is AI-structured before it reaches the specialist, so they spend time thinking, not sorting through reports. Second, our matchmaking routes your case to a specialist whose sub-specialty focus matches your exact cancer type and stage. Third, you receive a formal written opinion on record, not just a verbal conversation.
04Can I use this for a family member?+
Yes. Many cases are submitted by a family member on behalf of the patient. You will need the patient's consent (captured in the upload wizard) and access to their medical records.

Privacy and security

01Will my information be kept private?+
Yes. Your records are encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). Only the specialist reviewing your case can see your records, and only for as long as needed. We are fully compliant with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA, 2023). You can request deletion of your records at any time.
02Who can see my records?+
Only the case manager processing your case and the specialist writing your opinion. Access is role-based, audit-logged, and bounded to the active engagement.
03Can I delete my data after receiving the opinion?+
Yes. You can request deletion at any time through your dashboard or by contacting us. We comply with the DPDPA right-to-erasure requirements. Certain records may be retained for the minimum period mandated by medical record-keeping regulations.

The specialists

01Who will read my records?+
A senior oncologist - a cancer specialist who is board-certified and trained at a leading cancer institute. Their name and qualifications appear on every opinion you receive.
02Can I choose my specialist?+
Yes. For Expert Review cases, our matchmaking engine ranks the top specialists for your specific cancer type, stage, and profile. You see each doctor's credentials and match score before picking. You are never auto-assigned without your consent.
03How long does the specialist take to write the opinion?+
The standard turnaround is 48 hours from the time the specialist accepts your case. Complex cases may take up to 72 hours. You are notified at every step.

Pricing and payment

01How much does it cost?+
Records Vault is free. Case Prep is Rs 3,000. Expert Review is Rs 7,500 all-inclusive - that covers the full case preparation, specialist matching, and the written opinion from a senior oncologist. No hidden charges, no second payment.
02Can I upgrade from Case Prep to Expert Review later?+
Yes. You pay Rs 4,500 more. The total cost of upgrading (Rs 3,000 + Rs 4,500 = Rs 7,500) equals the cost of choosing Expert Review directly - there is no penalty for starting with Case Prep first.
03What payment methods do you accept?+
We accept all major Indian payment methods through Razorpay: credit/debit cards, UPI, net banking, and wallets.
04Is there a refund policy?+
If we are unable to deliver the service you paid for, you receive a full refund. Process-related refunds (delays, technical issues) are handled by the platform. Dissatisfaction with a clinical opinion is handled through a second review by a different specialist at no additional cost.

After you receive the opinion

01What if I have questions after I receive the opinion?+
You can write back to us. Clarification questions about the written opinion are answered at no extra cost, usually within two working days.
02Can I share the opinion with my local doctor?+
Yes - this is what the opinion is designed for. Every paid tier generates a secure share link you can send to your treating oncologist in one click. They open it in a browser and see your structured summary, reports, and (for Expert Review) the signed opinion. You control who has access and can revoke it at any time.
03Is the opinion a prescription or a treatment plan?+
No. The opinion is a clinical assessment and recommendation from a senior specialist, based on your documented records. All treatment decisions remain with your treating doctor, who knows your full clinical picture and can adapt the plan to you specifically.
